GERMANTOWN, Tenn. - A peaceful, suburban park turned into an accused predator’s hunting ground last week, according to the Germantown Police Department (GPD). John Appling, Jr., of Germantown, is accused of approaching children at Howard McVay Park and trying to get them to have sex with him, police said. “The damage that it does is incredible, and it’s just sick,” Zachery Brown, who brought his daughter to the park, said. Appling made a brief appearance in front of a judge in Germantown Wednesday night.
