HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The UNK Lopers are heading into their third season under Head Coach Ryan Held. In their pursuit for their first winning season under Held, leaders have started emerge.

First, redshirt senior Jack Johnson has spent his whole college career in Kearney. However, his ties to the city go deeper. He played high school football at Kearney High School.

Now, after years of playing in his hometown, he’s developed skills needed to help lead the team.

“As I’ve gotten older, you have to learn how people take criticism,” said Johnson. “It’s nice that people look up to me but you have to uphold a standard. You can’t tell someone to do this when you’re not doing that either.”
