LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. — A man accused of beating a woman, running from police, and selling "poison" in a South Carolina community has been convicted and recently learned his sentence.

The Eighth Circuit Solicitor's Office announced on Friday that 23-year-old Arcadio Kenneth Hernandez of Laurens pleaded guilty to several charges on Tuesday in connection with an incident that happened in December of 2024.

Investigators said deputies responded to a home in Laurens County regarding reports of a domestic assault. The victim said she and Hernandez were arguing when he hit her, got a gun from his bedroom and fired a shot into the floor, grazing her foot.

Investigators said Hernandez then stomped on the injured foot before taking her phone and running to the bedroom.
