Here’s a look at the unofficial depth chart released by the Vikings ahead of the pregame against the House Texans:

Starter: J.J. McCarthy

Backups: Sam Howell; Brett Rypien; Max Brosmer

Analysis: No surprises here. Whether anybody can challenge Howell to be the backup will be something to keep an eye on in the preseason.

Starter: Aaron Jones

Backups: Jordan Mason; Ty Chandler; Zavier Scott; Tre Stewart

Analysis: Though he’s listed as a backup, expect a solid workload for Mason moving forward. Meanwhile, Chandler needs to have a good showing in the preseason to fend off Scott.

Starter: C.J. Ham

Backup: N/A

Analysis: Nothing to note here. This has been Ham’s wheelhouse for a decade.
