CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- For the fourth consecutive year, the Pennsylvania State Budget was not passed by the June 30 deadline.
WTAJ asked State Representatives Paul Takac and Kerry Benninghoff about their view on the budget and the impacts the delay can have. Since the budget is more than a month delayed, challenges are being presented to local government, school districts, social service providers, and more.
"In early July, we passed a budget that we believe is fiscally responsible. It's fair, it's a compromised budget and frankly, the Pennsylvania Senate, the Republican leadership has not done that," Takac said.
