TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that a 49-year-old Taunton man was sentenced for child molestation.

Daniel Gomes was pled guilty to three counts of aggravated rape of child with a 5-year age difference, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under fourteen and one count of obscene matter to a minor.

The 8-year-old victim told police in 2022 that Gomes, who was the husband of an older relative, sexually molested her on multiple occasions when she was between the ages of 5- and 7- years-old.

Quinn said the assaults occurred in Brockton and Taunton, and that Gomes showed the victim pornographic videos on his phone.

Quinn was sentenced to eight-to -10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised probation.
