ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro Fire Department said that it responded to a “flash explosion” that occurred at Bruce Diamond Corporation on Friday.

The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. when a chemical agent that was being used to clean a melting machine reacted and caused the explosion.

The department said sprinklers at the business activated and fire extinguishers were used by employees to contain the fire.

There was no extension to the rest of the building, and one person was evaluated for injury but not transported to the hospital.
