SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Landowners and municipalities in multiple Central Texas counties, including several in the Concho Valley, are able to apply for cost-share reimbursement for wildfire mitigation practices through a grant, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
The service stated that landowners and municipalities in 33 Central Texas counties are eligible to apply for cost-share reimbursement through the Mechanical Fuel Reduction Grant from Aug. 1 to Sept. 12. The grant is designed "to reduce the risk of home loss to wildfire in Central Texas by using fuel reduction practices including hand-cut and mulching treatments."
