In the Washington County School District, students are scheduled to head back to school on Monday, Aug. 11. Within the Iron County School District, kids get back to class on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

That first week includes diagnostic assessments and minimum days for kindergarteners, so families should check with individual schools and teachers for exact class schedules for their students.

Combined, the districts are expecting around 49,575 students across 67 public schools for the 2025–26 school year. That includes elementary, middle and high schools throughout the region.
