AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A new affidavit details a 16-month-old overdosed on methadone back in June, which led to his mother being charged with second-degree cruelty to children.

Trae’son Dunn was pronounced dead around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday , June 3, at a home in the 2200 block of Ward Avenue.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy wrote that she was sent to the home just before 4:10 a.m.

The deputy was told by emergency medical crews that Trae’son “had overdosed on what they believed to be methadone and possibly another substance.”
