BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Officials in Dakota County believe they've found the person responsible for a Faribault man's death in early May at Burnsville's Interlachen Park.

A criminal complaint filed by the county attorney's office said 21-year-old Michael Nhial was charged with one count of second-degree intentional murder for the death of David Chant, 59, of Faribault, who was found unresponsive in the park on May 3.

Court documents claim Chant's mother found her son on the ground, partially under a picnic table, with blood around his head. Prosecutors said Chant would sometimes stay with his mother and take early morning walks in Interlachen Park. She told investigators that she went looking for him when he wasn't in her home that morning.
