MOATSVILLE, W.Va. (WV News) — The West Virginia State Police have released information about a water rescue in Barbour County Thursday.

Authorities in Barbour County were alerted to a missing boater in the Tygart River, near the Moatsville, Cove Run access point at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday.

Multiple agencies responded, including personnel from Barbour County EMS, all Barbour County Fire Departments, Corporal Ben Stout of the West Virginia State Police — Philippi Detachment, and Barbour County Sheriff's Deputy Josh Mayle.

Upon arrival, it was determined that Bonnie J. Brady, 61, of Moatsville, had been swept downriver over a series of waterfalls after the boat she and her husband were in had capsized. Brady was reported missing following the incident.
