SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WV News) — About a month after taking ownership of the former Sunset Ellis Drive-in property, Harrison County officials are set to host the flea market that had been a staple there for years.
The county will host the flea market for the first time Aug. 16. This year, the market will run for nine weeks, every Saturday until Oct. 11. In future years, officials expect it will operate for a longer season.
“We definitely want to get it started earlier — in the spring,” County Administrator Laura Pysz-Laulis said. “We’re just eager to hurry up, get this open and start to learn the kinks and work through them as we proceed. And then that way we’ll work toward a better one every year after.”
