RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Randolph County Animal Services are asking for the public’s help in a possible case of pet abandonment.

On Friday, Animal Control officers responded to Branson Mill Road in Pleasant Garden after a report of a dog being left under suspicious circumstances.

Video footage from the incident shows a man exiting a vehicle, releasing a dog from the passenger side, then walking briefly into a wooded area. He returned to the car and drove away, leaving the dog behind, according to officials.

The sheriff’s office and animal services are releasing the video in hopes of identifying the man and learning more about the circumstances.
