PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- Pennsylvania residents who have to contact the Unemployment Compensation (UC) Service Center will notice a quicker wait time.
Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) announced that the average call wait time has dropped to nine minutes, the fastest performance since March 2019.
“Reducing UC call wait times isn’t just about speed, it’s about access,” L&I Secretary Nancy A. Walker said. “Faster call times mean faster answers, fewer delays, and more Pennsylvanians getting the help they need when they need it. While this is an accomplishment, we will not rest on our laurels. We’re committed to continued improvements that make Pennsylvania’s UC system more responsive, accessible, and effective.”
Before Jan. 2023, call wait times at the UC center exceeded an h
