HEBRON, Conn. (WTNH) — The Hebron Fire Department announced a new online tool, Community Connect, on Friday designed to help firefighters and first responders assist members of the community during an emergency.

Once a Community Connect account is created, community members can add information which can be vital in an emergency, such as property details, the amount of people in a residence, people in the home with different abilities, and pet information, according to fire officials.

App users can also have direct access to requesting permits, public education, as well as smoke detector battery replacement and installations, officials said.

Business owners can also use the app and will receive a text notification if emergency personnel are responding to the facility, officials said.
