STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The body of the 6-year-old boy who fell in the Housatonic River in Stratford was recovered Friday afternoon, approximately 48 hours after he first went missing.
The boy was found by civilian boaters at 2 p.m., about a half-mile south of the Birdseye Street boat ramp, where he fell into the river. Stratford and Bridgeport police marine units were nearby and removed the body from the water.
“We don't want him to feel alone, like your family is still here, we still care about you and we're not going to stop until we retrieve your body,” a family member who did not want to be identified said. “He's out there somewhere.”
The family is hanging on to the memories they have of him from the last six years.
