NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — A man who was allegedly assaulted at a New London senior living community in July has died, according to New London police.

The victim was identified as Lance Allen. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.

Earlier this week a New London man, 38-year-old Matthew Ellis, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.

On July 7, police found Allen unconscious and unresponsive with facial trauma. At the time, police did not believe the alleged assault was a random act.
