AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A Potter County grand jury indicted a man Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine found after police say he killed a man and charged him with intoxication manslaughter.

On Wednesday, a Potter County grand jury voted to indict 35-year-old Brett Hudson for possession of a controlled substance, or namely methamphetamine, a third-degree felony.

An indictment is the formal decision for the State to begin prosecuting a criminal offense.

The indictment gives May 18, 2025, as the date Hudson was found with the drugs on or near his person.

On that same date, Hudson is accused of driving a white Buick south on Coulter street near Wolflin Avenue at 6:40 am when he left the roadway and hit 34-year-old Brandon Waugh before coming to a stop several yards past the Waffl
