School is almost back in session, and one pediatrician is reminding parents of the importance of getting their children vaccinated.
Pediatric hospitalist Dr. Nadia Asif said vaccinating your child can protect them from so many different diseases.
She said when students go back to school, they are going to be in close proximity to their classmates, which is a way germs can easily be spread.
Dr. Asif added that each student should go to their annual physical to see which vaccine they are due for.
"Coming a little late in the fall, they'll be the seasonal flu and COVID vaccines to get as well," Dr. Asif said. "There are new COVID variants. There's a stratos variant and nimbus variant, so the COVID virus mutates really easily and so there's going to be new variants pretty often, so it's al
