GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A tire blowout on Interstate 75 left a 12-year-old boy in a coma and his family asking for prayers.
Dayna McKinley said she and her three children were traveling northbound near mile marker 374 on July 29 when one of their tires suddenly exploded, causing their vehicle to lose control and roll over.
“I heard this really loud, God it almost sounded like an explosion, which is what it was, it was a tire,” McKinley said. “It just felt like somebody or something just came and just pulled me and I lost control.”
McKinley said she couldn’t get her son, Aiden, out of the car until emergency crews arrived.
