LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A Louisville restaurant that had earned some national recognition has suddenly closed.
Enso opened on Frankfort Avenue back in the fall of 2023. It was a concept from Chef Lawrence Wells, who also worked at North of Bourbon. Enso blended traditional Japanese techniques with Southern cooking influences.
They were named one of Yelp’s Top 25 Restaurants of the South and made Ebony’s list of top 45 black-owned restaurants in the U.S.
But the restaurant is closed as of Thursday night. WAVE was told Meeks left the ownership group, and since Enso was his personal concept, it’s a wrap.
The owners plan to reopen something new in the space.
