DENVER (KDVR) — An arrest has been made after a woman was found dead near Interstate 225 Sunday night after a hit-and-run crash.

On Friday, the Aurora Police Department announced in a press release that Johandry De Los Santos Ruiz, 27, turned himself in to police on Thursday for allegedly being connected to the deadly hit-and-run crash.

On Sunday, officers responded to a report just before 10 p.m. of an auto-pedestrian crash at the northbound I-225 onramp at East Colfax Avenue. Once on the scene, responding officers found a woman dead, said Aurora police.

Police said that officers were searching the area after saying that investigators had not found any witnesses to the crash, and the driver did not stay at the scene.
