NEW ORLEANS —

Louisiana State Police area investigating a trooper-involved shooting in New Orleans Thursday night.

According to State Police, the shooting happened just after 9 p.m. after troopers conducted a traffic stop. Advertisement

The driver failed to stop and the chase ensued. The suspect turned onto Pleasure Street and came to a stop at a dead end.

While attempting to run, the driver reversed toward the troopers, hitting an LSP-marked patrol unit.

At that time, the trooper discharged his service weapon.

The suspect's car fled the area and has not been located.

There are no known injuries to the suspect(s) or the responding troopers.

This is an ongoing investigation.
