SUSQUEHANNA, P.A. (WIVT/WBGH) - The investigation continues into the attack on two Pennsylvania state troopers in Susquehanna County that left a woman and the suspect dead while the troopers remain in the hospital.

The troopers were ambushed and shot while responding to a welfare check where shots were reportedly fired in the area of State Route 171 in Thompson Township shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday.

The officers have been identified as Joseph Perechinsky and William Jenkins. They are both listed in stable condition at this time.

Police say 61 year-old Carmine Faino shot and killed his neighbor 57 year-old Lori Wasko before troopers arrived and he began shooting at them. Faino was later shot and killed by police.
