BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A Vermont woman is calling on authorities to reopen the investigation into her father’s death. Police ruled Pedro Baez’s death last November a suicide, but his daughter, Alex Stanley, believes he was murdered, and that her own brother might be the killer.

“He loved me, and I loved him,” said Alex Stanley, looking through old photographs and items left behind by her father, Pedro Baez. “He had a great sense of humor. He was smart, he was adventurous.”

In November 2024, Baez was found dead in his home in Northfield. Police called Stanley at her home in Minnesota to tell her it was a suicide.
