An at-risk 77-year-old woman who had been last seen in South Los Angeles, east of the Harbor (110) Freeway, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert, has been located, authorities announced Friday.
Josephine Gamboa had been missing since about 8 p.m. Saturday, last seen near East 42nd Street and Wadsworth Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert Tuesday on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
CHP officials said she has since been located, but no details were provided about when or where she was found.
The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
