The northern lights could again be viewable from Washington state tonight, Aug. 8.
It's the second day in a row that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's aurora forecast map shows much of the state inside its northern lights "view line," which represents the southernmost areas where the aurora borealis might be seen in the northern horizon.
The forecast map from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center appears to show places such as Bellingham, Bremerton, Seattle, Wenatchee, and Spokane within the possible viewable range, with stronger chances of the northern lights appearing across the northern part of the state. The southwestern parts of the state, including Vancouver, are outside the view zone.
