PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Did you notice a bit of humidity in the air on Friday morning? If you did, it’s not your imagination. Dew points crept into the 50s, and will likely hang out in the 50s and 60s for a good part of the weekend.

When the average daily dew point gets to 55 or higher, that’s usually when we start to feel the humidity in the air. A dew point of 55 is also significant under the old school definition of the monsoon.

Under this “old school” definition, the start of the monsoon is declared when the average daily dew point hits at least 55 in Phoenix. We have not had a day with an average dew point of 55 since Aug. 1.
