Here comes a hot stretch. Expect more heat over the weekend, with several very hot days in the forecast. Valleys will flirt with 100 each afternoon from Sunday until Tuesday. Expect highs well into the 80s in the Sierra. Another trough of low pressure will put an end to the intense heat midweek, with breezy, cooler air sweeping into the region.
