BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Uber is rolling out a new feature designed to give women more control over who picks them up and who they drive.
The “Women Preferences” option allows female passengers to choose rides with women drivers only, while female drivers can opt to accept only women passengers. The feature is launching first in select U.S. cities with the potential to expand, and North Dakota could be one of them.
While it is meant to offer more choice and comfort, the Bismarck Police Department said riders should still take precautions.
“Lots of it is using basic common sense,” said Caity Horne, community engagement officer with the Bismarck Police Department. “If you’re using an app and it gives you information about the driver, double-check that that’s the car you’re supposed to get
