MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Minot Police arrested a 39-year-old man who investigators said pointed a gun at a teen Thursday in southeast Minot.

According to a criminal affidavit, the 17-year-old victim told investigators he was cutting grass when a man, later identified as Darnell Burton, was riding a bicycle and talking with him about items he believed were stolen from him.

The victim said he told Burton he did not have his belongings. The teen told police he saw Burton reach into his bag and heard a gun rack.

The teen told police he took off running, in fear for his life.

Police said they later located Burton in a nearby field and took him into custody. The affidavit states Burton told police he buried the gun in a field.
