ACCOKEEK, Md. — A man is facing charges after police say he killed his mother's boyfriend at a home in Accokeek early Friday morning.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, 24-year-old Clarence Green Jr. is accused of killing 38-year-old Gene Garrett Jr.

Officers were called to a home in the 16000 block of Caribbean Way for reports of a shooting around midnight. Upon arrival, officers found Garrett shot inside the home. He died at the scene of the crime.

Investigators say Green and Garrett lived together and reportedly had been fighting. Green is accused of shooting Garrett as a result of that ongoing dispute.

Green has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, assault, and additional related charges. He remains in the custody of the Department of Correcti
