INDIANAPOLIS — A former IMPD officer was sentenced to two decades in prison for charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Paul Humphrey, who served on the department for 24 years, pleaded guilty last month to nine felony charges including sexual misconduct with a minor under the age of 16.

A judge sentenced him Friday, Aug. 8 to 22 years, with 20 to be served with the Indiana Department of Correction and two years on sex offender probation.

Humphrey was charged in January 2024 after an official at an Indianapolis high school filed a complaint with the Indiana Department of Child Services about a student who had been inappropriately touched by an adult. IMPD detectives began an investigation the following day.
