Authorities are investigating the death of a 33-year-old female inmate who was found unresponsive in her cell at the El Paso County jail around 5:38 a.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies and medical staff responded and performed lifesaving efforts. The release stated that medical personnel from American Medical Response and the Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived at about 5:54 a.m.

According to the release, there is no indication of foul play or self-harm . The coroner will release the inmate's name and cause and manner of death after completing an autopsy.
