NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — Jonathan McClurg has traveled a long and bumpy road.
It all started when he lost his father a couple of years ago.
"I ended up in a real deep depression," McClurg said. "I was drinking to excess, I was in a bad spot, and that led to my divorce, which sent me further down the rabbit hole."
McClurg found himself struggling to stay afloat, especially after several arrests tied to his alcohol dependency.
But he's living proof that after hitting rock bottom, the only way to go is up.
"I decided to finally change my life," he said.
McClurg made the conscious decision to get sober, quit his job as a pipe fitter and move to Narragansett.
