DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — On the side of State Road in North Dartmouth, the owners of Stan & Paul’s Appliances have posted a sign reminding drivers of this weekend’s tax-free holiday in Massachusetts.
The family-run business is expecting another busy two days as shoppers take advantage of the 6.25% savings on big-ticket items.
Among them is Sheri-Lynn Viera of Fall River, who stopped by Friday to prepare her purchase. She’s ready to replace decades-old appliances.
"It was done in the early 80s," Viera said. "It's a lot of 70s components. So we're going to give it a nice uplift."
The tax-free holiday runs Saturday and Sunday on most taxable items priced at $2,500 or less.
