GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — After weeks of waiting, Mesa County Library's Adult Learning Center has received the federal funding that's been frozen since late June.
"Right now we're expecting that we have federal funding, the regular budget that we were anticipating to spend through June of 2026," says Emily McConnell, head of adult learning at Mesa County Libraries.
McConnell says she's grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.
"Just a huge shoutout to our community and anyone who voiced that adult education funds are needed because that is what is allowing our program to continue to have these funds this fiscal year."
The grant money will be used to pay six instructors who teach GED prep and English learning classes.
