An investigation was conducted after parents said they discovered a fellow parent at their children's daycare was a convicted child sex offender.

“I had 4 years old and 2 years old that had been going here for two years,” said mom Destyne Velazquez. “I unrolled my kids cause I didn’t need that.”

Bourbonnais police said an investigation was conducted involving a parent at a KinderCare daycare in the far south Chicago suburb.

Velazquez said she learned about the past of one of the parents at her children's KinderCare through another parent in law enforcement. The two parents informed staff at the school and had a meeting to discuss the situation.

“They promised me and another mom that this parent was not going to back in the building," Velazquez said.
