The Detroit Lions are set for preseason game No. 2 on Friday night on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.

The Lions already have one preseason contest under their collective belt, a 34-7 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers in the Hall of Fame game. And while the outcome of that game is largely irrelevant to the Lions — the starters did not play — it did lay out a few important things to watch going into the second preseason game, namely how Kyle Allen and Hendon Hooker continue competing for the backup quarterback job.

Hooker will start against the Falcons after Allen started against the Chargers, head coach Dan Campbell said.

While Jared Goff is locked in as the starter, Campbell and Co. haven’t settled on his backup, yet. And both Allen
