Charles E. Hathway III dies at 89; Texas native transformed UALR as chancellor from 1993

Charles E. Hathaway III, a former University of Arkansas at Little Rock chancellor who guided the institution out of financial problems in the early 1990s and shaped the campus as an urban/metropolitan model, died Tuesday. He was 89.
