AUBURN — It's a near certainty that Auburn football will have to produce on the field to secure a third consecutive top-10 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. But Hugh Freeze and his staff have landed a significant addition to the class prior to the season.
Jase Mathews, a four-star wide receiver from Leakesville, Mississippi, announced his commitment to the Tigers on Friday. A consensus four-star recruit, Mathews chose Auburn from four finalists, which included LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. According to 247Sports' composite ratings, Mathews is the No. 117 player in the class and the 13th-best player at his position.
