Former Montgomery Catholic head coach Kirk Johnson was announced Friday, August 8 as the head coach of the Alabama All-Stars team for the 39th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic football game.

Johnson led Montgomery Catholic to two consecutive state titles in his four years with the Knights, compiling the winningest record in the school's history at 55-2. The only two losses came in the playoffs for Johnson.

Now in his first year with Benjamin Russell, Johnson makes the move to 6A and will have a lot of attention on a program that fields the state of Alabama's number one recruit in Alabama University commit, Cederian Morgan.
