The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed that the gunman who opened fire inside a CVS store has died.

In a press conference at 7:45 p.m. ET, officials identified the shooter as a white male.

Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said the suspect was located on the second floor of the CVS building and had fired multiple rounds.

He was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the injuries were self-inflicted or caused by police.
