LAS VEGAS (KLAS) - A family is trying to gain custody of three children who were involved in a North Las Vegas police shooting.
An officer shot Auftan Green, 31, several times after he attempted to run over officers and his own child, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.
Officers responded to a gas station near East Tropical Parkway and Sloan Lane on July 20 over concerns that reportedly one or more adults were passed out and possibly under the influence, police said.
Green was approached by an officer while at the gas pump. "Look, man, my main concern is the kids," an officer is heard saying on bodycam.
Following that discussion, Green hopped in his black Honda Accord, and a struggle ensued between the officer and Green, and he eventually sped off, police said.
