HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Friends are rallying around the family of Kallel Fox, providing support after a tragic loss.

The eighth grader at Mountain Gap Middle School was hit and killed while riding his bike earlier this week.

Friends and family knew him as Kal. Robert Vachon has coached Kal and his older brother for years. He said Kal was competitive but always had a really great attitude.

"Kal was loved by everybody on the team," Vachon said. "He was such a great spirit. He always came to practice just full of energy and just always wanted to be in the front. He didn't care if the high school kids wanted to be in front of him. He wanted to be right behind me and always on the front, and go hard."
