QUINCY (WGEM) - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin sent a letter to the president of Amtrak on Friday requesting that they resume normal service after some Illinois routes have been canceled or rerouted by bus.
Amtrak’s website shows that the evening train from Quincy to Chicago has been rerouted by bus until Wednesday, which will add an extra hour of travel.
Durbin sent the letter to Roger Harris, president of Amtrak, to express his frustration of the service change. Durbin said the change is due to scheduled maintenance.
