PORTLAND, Ore. — A crash Thursday afternoon on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard left one man dead and multiple others injured.
The victim, 49-year-old DaRon Craig, was walking with his 12-year-old son when a speeding grey Ford Escape struck him and another pedestrian, killing him, and leaving the other pedestrian with extremely serious injuries, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Craig’s ex-wife, Angeline McKinney-Craig, said she had just seen him that morning when he came to take their children out for food. She recalled that they had a good conversation, and he left with their son, then she left the home elsewhere.
She was on her way back home after forgetting something when she saw multiple crashed vehicles, then got out her car to try and help.
