Former Ohio State Buckeye TreVeyon Henderson started his New England Patriots career with an exclamation point: scoring a touchdown on his first touch in the NFL during the Pats' preseason opener against the Washington Commanders on Aug. 8.
Henderson received the kickoff and took it all the way down the field for an opening touchdown. It was, as the Patriots' X account noted, "the first time he touched ball in the NFL." (Add a lot of exclamation points there.)
The Patriots took Henderson in the second round of the NFL draft , making him the No. 38 overall pick.
Henderson made headlines this week when his block in blitz pickup during practice with the Commanders led to tempers flaring, and fellow Buckeye Mike Vrabel, the Patriots' head coach, entered the fray.
