With Napheesa Collier out with an ankle injury, Alanna Smith posted her best game of the season to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a home victory over the Washington Mystics, 80-76, Friday night in Minneapolis.
Smith scored 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including four three-pointers, to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Her previous season high was 26 points in a 68-64 loss to the Mystics on June 24. Collier missed that game as well because of a lower back injury.
All-Star guard Courtney Williams added 14 points for the Lynx, while recent trade acquisition DiJonai Carrington scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting in 28 minutes off the bench.
